Parangtritis Beach Yogyakarta

Parangtritis beach is located in the Yogyakarta city. This beach is famous enough to become one of the icons are owned by the city of Yogyakarta tourism. According to the story, parangtritis name itself comes when a person who fled from the kingdom majapahit, he is Dipokusumo. And he was praying in the region. When he was meditating, he saw water dripping (Tumaritis) from the crevices of the rock (machete). Then he gave the name of the area as parangtritis which means the water that drips from the stone. 

Although the panorama of the parangtritis  beach may not exotic beaches in Bali, the interest of tourists, both local and foreign companies will not be reduced to visit the beach this parangtritis. The beach is always crowded by tourists.

Attraction

The arrival of tourists visiting this beach will be greeted by grains of fine sand flying in the wind. The east side of the beach is composed of beach Parangkusumo, Gumuk Sand, opaque river estuary, Depok Beach, and a row of other beaches.

Location

Parangtritis located in the parangtritisis village, district of kretek, Bantul regency, province of Yogyakarta, INDONESIA. This beach is located about 27 kilometers to the south of Yogyakarta city. The beach is very easy to achieve because the course is relatively flat. To reach this beach, there are two alternative routes that can be taken by tourists from the city of Yogyakarta. First, the route of Yogyakarta - street parangtritis - Kretek - Parangtritis. This path is the main line. Second, the route of Yogyakarta - Imogiri - siluk - Parangteritis. Although further, this line presents a panorama of nature better than the first route.

For tourists who are not using private vehicles, public buses could become an alternative transportation. From Terminal Giwangan, you can take a bus to the line Jogja - Parangteritis.
