There is something very interesting for me write on this blog yesterday when clay Kecak dance at Uluwatu. If the view is often, spelled bored .. not so. But no reply usually is a bit surprised yesterday when I saw it, especially when Hanuman kicking a big fire.
Kecak is a typical Balinese performing arts that was created in the 1930s and played mainly by men. This dance is performed by many (tens or more) male dancers who sat lined up in a circle and with a certain rhythm called "cak" and raised both arms, depicts the story of Ramayana when Rama's line of apes help fight Ravana. However, Kecak sanghyang comes from the ritual, namely the tradition of dancing the dancers will be in unconscious condition, to communicate with God or the spirits of the ancestors and then convey its expectations to the community.
The dancers in the circle is wearing a plaid cloth like a chessboard their waist. Besides the dancers, there are also other dancers who portray the characters of Ramayana as Rama, Shinta, Ravana, Hanuman, and Sugriwa.
Kecak dance songs taken from the ritual dances sanghyang. Also, do not use musical instruments. Only used kincringan worn on the feet of dancers who portray the characters of Ramayana.
Philosophy
In this dance is actually a depiction of the crime business symbolized by Rangda to tempt people to do evil. This is shown through supernatural forces that move the dancers to stab himself. But these evil forces will not win, because there are good forces symbolized by barong against Rangda. Barong strength will withstand the power of thrust, so the dancers will not be hurt by tikamannya own.
Just as the situation in this world full of evil and goodness, so about the depiction to be conveyed. For the Balinese maintain harmony and balance is a basic philosophy that is very fundamental. According to Mr. Anak Agung Gde Agung, the concept of Tri Hita Karana is a basic principle in which man becomes the center of the balance between his relationship with God (parahyangan), himself with fellow humans (palemahan), and between humans and their environment (pawongan). Tri Hita Karana alone meaningful three sources of happiness (tri: three, hita: happiness, karana: source), where humans have to maintain the balance of all three to achieve happiness.
Kecak Dance symbolizes the balance that is achieved due to the forces of evil will never defeat the power of good. Perhaps similar to the principle of Yin and Yang of China which is also depicted with a balance between Yin and Yang. The balance between the negative things and positive things. Being a human task, the God given common sense and free will, to maintain harmony and balance to the world. Nyepi Day is for the people of Bali is a clean day itself, get closer to the Creator in order to obtain the strength to continue to maintain the harmony of the world. Crime will never be extinct, but the power of kindness will continue to keep crime not to injure humans.
